Yangyang Pine Mushroom & Salmon Festival

The Yangyang Songi Mushroom & Salmon Festival is a signature autumn festival where visitors can discover the wonders of nature and the pleasures of fine food at once, amid Yangyang's pristine scenery of mountains, sea and Namdaecheon Stream. Going beyond simply tasting songi (pine mushrooms) from deep in the mountains and salmon returning to Namdaecheon Stream, it is designed so that visitors can experience nature in a friendly and fun way through a variety of unique activities. Signature programs include the ‘Songi Treasure Hunt’, where visitors search for songi in a pine forest, and ‘Bare-Hand Salmon Catching’, where they grab lively salmon from Namdaecheon Stream with both hands, offering thrills found only in Yangyang. There is plenty more for children and adults alike, such as the ‘Yangyang Salmon Eco Tour’, where a docent explains the salmon's return journey, the ‘Songi & Salmon Cooking Show’, where chefs cook right in front of you, and ‘Songi Liquor Making’, where you steep your own. Participation events and local content are also abundant: the ‘Expedition and Salmon Roe Gacha Zone’, where you complete missions to receive gifts, a ‘Stamp Tour’ to complete a poster with six stamps, ‘Custom T-shirt Making’ available with a receipt, and ‘Snack Collage Making’ for children add to the fun. In addition, local pop-up stores, a specialty products market and the ‘Songi Master Auction Show’ starting from 1,000 won let visitors buy quality local specialties at reasonable prices. The rest area on site is combined with a fresh food market, operating as a place to relax: by day under art shades in the clear river breeze, and by night enjoying the local dining of ‘Yangyang Slow Table’ amid an atmospheric night view created by Light Tank.
