Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival

The Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival is a festival held in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, centered on the life and philosophy of Jeong Yak-yong and the spirit of Silhak. The 40th Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival will take place from October 17 to 18, 2026, at the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site and the surrounding area of Dasan Ecological Park. Major programs include a flower and tea offering ceremony, the opening ceremony, a special 40th-anniversary fashion show and commemorative concert, the Jeong Yak-yong Robot Design Contest, and literary and arts competitions. A special fashion show by designer Lee Sang-bong is scheduled for the 17th, and a commemorative concert featuring YX, Park Hye-won, and Urban Zakapa is set for the 18th. The hands-on programs include “Yeoyudang Hunters,” where participants complete missions throughout the venue to find treasure; a “Digital Detox Exile Experience”; the “Jeong Yak-yong Future Workshop,” which introduces participants to artificial intelligence and robots; and traditional games and hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) experiences. In addition, busking performances and markets will be held at Dasan Ecological Park, making this a festival where visitors can experience Jeong Yak-yong’s historical and cultural content alongside performances and hands-on activities.
