Yuseong Chrysanthemum Festival

Selected as one of Daejeon City’s representative festivals starting in 2022, the “17th Yuseong Chrysanthemum Festival”—Yuseong-gu’s premier fall festival—will be held for 16 days, from October 17 to November 1, in the Yurim Park area. Visitors can enjoy a variety of exhibitions, hands-on activities, and performances that showcase the inherent beauty of chrysanthemums and the unique character of Yuseong, the “City of Science.” This year, the festival will debut a new chrysanthemum sculpture modeled after Hanbit Tower—a symbol of the “City of Science”—and expand the Astar Chrysanthemum Garden to include the area along Yuseong Stream (underneath Eoeun Bridge). Additionally, a cosmos path will be created along the Bandoji and Yuseong Stream walking trails to offer a bountiful display of autumn flowers. Additionally, the festival will feature a drawing caricature robot, hands-on gardening activities such as terrarium-making, woodworking workshops, chrysanthemum-themed programs, and performances by local universities and artists. At night, the festival will feature atmospheric nighttime activities—such as moonlight busking, a Candle Garden Concert, wish lanterns, and the Chrysanthemum (Onbit) Cinema—inviting visitors to linger and enjoy the festivities. The festival will also boost the local economy through receipt-based promotions in collaboration with nearby businesses and a guide to local restaurants.
