Gwangju Gourmet Week

Gwangju Gourmet Week 2026 is a food festival that turns the rich food culture and culinary resources of Jeonnam-Gwangju into vivid tourism content. Ingredients and dishes, people and places, and culture are linked in a single line, letting visitors experience Gwangju's distinctive food ecosystem from every angle. Master cooks and artisans who have kept the region's flavors for years, young chefs reinterpreting traditional tastes with flair, and food activists thinking about ecological value all gather in one place. Going beyond simply tasting food, it offers a special journey in which ingredients become dishes and then expand into stories of the region. The festival opens in style with an opening event at ‘Ogaheon’, a tranquil hanok. The Gwangju Gourmet Week ‘Discount Week’, running for just 10 days from October 2 to October 11, is a collaboration with Blue Ribbon Survey, Korea's leading restaurant guide, offering visits to vetted restaurants and special benefits. The ‘Yangnim Spoon Week’, held around Yangnim-dong where history and culture live on, also introduces Gwangju's best food spots to residents and visitors. As sustainable food events, it presents ‘See, Eat and Learn Gourmet’, which explores the many values of food culture and new attempts from various angles, and ‘See, Eat and Learn Vegan Gourmet Trip’, which explores eco-friendly food culture that reflects environmental and ecological values. During the festival, a promotional booth introducing the Gourmet Week will operate at the Asia Culture Week site at the Asia Culture Center, and online events anyone can join will add to the excitement.
