The Geumjeongsanseong Fortress Festival, carrying the value of Geumjeongsan, newly designated a national park in 2026, runs for three days from Friday October 16 to Sunday October 18 at Geumjeongsanseong Plaza and around the fortress. It is a history, culture and arts festival built on Geumjeongsanseong — the signature cultural heritage of Busan's Geumjeong-gu and Korea's largest mountain fortress — and on Geumjeongsan National Park, held each year to mark the building of the fortress. Running since the Geumjeong Arts Festival of 1996, this year's edition presents a new side of Geumjeong through programs where the ecology and nature of the national park meet the history and culture of the fortress.
