Hanbok Culture Week

Hanbok Culture Week is a nationwide hanbok culture event held each year in the third week of October, around Hanbok Day on October 21, to share the style and tradition of hanbok widely and to spread the practice of wearing it in daily life. Now in its ninth year, the 2026 edition runs for seven days from October 19 to 25 at the open plaza of the National Museum of Korea and at some 410 locations nationwide. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized by the Korea Craft and Design Foundation and supported by Arts Council Korea, it comprises a commemorative event along with hanbok fashion shows, exhibitions, performances, hands-on programs and academic forums for experiencing the many sides of hanbok's appeal. Through programs run with participating venues across the country, it gives people the chance to see, wear and enjoy hanbok close to home, and through programs at venues in Korea and abroad it creates an occasion for hanbok, a traditional form, to carry into today's culture and exchange with the world.
