Gamaksan Flower and Star Trip

The 6th Gamaksan Flower and Star Trip is a leading autumn festival held from September 18 to October 11, 2026 around Byeolbaram Hill at the summit of Gamaksan Mountain in Sinwon-myeon, Geochang-gun. This year's theme is "A Purple Pause Just for Me," bringing together performances, hands-on activities and food against the autumn atmosphere and natural scenery of Gamaksan. The festival opens on September 18 with a pre-opening performance, an opening performance and a tour of the Korean daisy (gujeolcho) fields. During the festival, busking performances, a sunset hill concert, a celebratory performance by the Geochang music society and a magic show for children welcome visitors. There are plenty of hands-on programs too. Visitors can receive souvenirs through photo zones set up around the venue, a stamp tour and social media events. A slow mailbox on Byeolbaram Hill lets you write a letter and receive it before next year's festival. Food is another highlight. At the Flower and Star Market, run by local farms and businesses, you can find Geochang specialties and processed goods. At the food market run by the Namsang-myeon and Sinwon-myeon women's associations, you can enjoy generous dishes such as bibimbap, gukbap, jeon and tofu with kimchi at low prices, and the food truck zone offers coffee, sikhye, hot dogs and other quick bites. Visitors without a car can use the shuttle bus; those coming by car should make an advance reservation on the website before visiting.
