Damyang Heritage Night

On a mysterious night in October, very special guests travel back in time to a Damyang that does not sleep. Damyang Heritage Night draws out the stories of the historical and cultural figures Damyang produced, centered on the Gwanbangjerim forest, the Gaeksa-ri stone flagpole support and the five-story stone pagoda in Namsan-ri. Dynamic storytelling fills the grounds: a marketplace play conveying with love and laughter the story of the official who built Gwanbangjerim; a madang changgeuk that stirs the heart through Yi Nal-chi, the great Joseon singer born in Damyang; a talk concert with night stories and piano beneath the stone flagpole support; and family games and performances carrying out the missions of Jeon Woo-chi, who honed his magic at Damyang's Yeondongsa Temple. Added to these is an in-depth humanities lecture on the secret of the sound of Damyang singer-songwriter Kim Jeong-ho of 'White Butterfly' and on what Seong I-seong and Jeon Cheon-sang have in common. A quiet Damyang night, and layer upon layer of the county's history and culture set out on softly lit lawns. On a mysterious night in October you can meet an atmosphere only Damyang has.
