Wonju Yongsugol Autumn Flower Festival

The Wonju Yongsugol Autumn Flower Festival is a resident-led autumn flower festival held in and around Yongsugol, Seogok-ri, Panbu-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do. The 5th edition in 2026 is scheduled to run for 13 days from September 23 to October 5. The festival grounds are flower fields that villagers plant and tend themselves, and visitors can enjoy a variety of seasonal autumn flowers. The main flowers include zinnias, sunflowers, cosmos, yellow cosmos, purpletop vervain, globe amaranth and asters, displayed in separate sections by type and color. During the festival, programs center on viewing the flower fields and taking photos, and there will also be areas selling food and local farm products run by residents. The festival is a seasonal event held in autumn in Yongsugol, where the Poppy Festival takes place in spring. Residents take part directly in everything from planting the fields to running the festival and looking after the environment, making it a tourism program that draws on the area's natural setting and rural landscape. With poppies in spring and a variety of autumn flowers in the fall, it is one of Yongsugol's signature seasonal festivals.
