21st Century Humanities Values Forum

The 21st Century Humanities Values Forum is a humanities and culture event held over three days at the Andong International Convention Center and around the city, under the theme 'A shaking world, the things that do not change'. It opens with a keynote lecture and the Humanities Values Award ceremony and closes with the proclamation of the Andong Declaration. Alongside thematic, public and participatory sessions bringing together scholars from Korea and abroad with the general public, exhibitions, hands-on programs, tours and networking events are arranged so that visitors can see, walk and exchange, and feel humanities values for themselves. Over the past decade or so this event has extended Korean traditional culture into universal values for the present day; this year it takes up contemporary questions including war and peace, memory and record, and AI and technology, running both online and in person with around 5,000 participants.
