Namdo K-Garden Festival

The Namdo K-Garden Festival is a night-time garden festival held around Yeomun Culture Street and Yeoseomi Gwangjang in Yeosu. Its theme is 'Yeosu's night garden, holding an island', and it runs for 51 days from September 11 to October 31, 2026. Through content linking gardens with the night landscape, the festival makes use of the spatial character of the old town and offers residents and visitors a chance to enjoy garden culture. Around 40 gardens are created on site, including signature gardens, artists' gardens and citizen participation gardens, run as a space that can be viewed both by day and by night through varied plants and landscape design. At night, lighting design emphasizes the gardens' appearance and provides a viewing environment linked to Yeosu's night tourism resources. Over the festival period, garden commentary programs, culture performances, hands-on programs and citizen participation programs run, along with programs linked to local businesses and tourism resources. The Namdo K-Garden Festival works toward spreading garden culture and revitalizing the old town, and toward building a foundation for Yeosu as a garden city. Through a garden festival that residents and visitors take part in and enjoy together, it aims to use the area's cultural and tourism resources to spread a sustainable garden culture.
