'Lee Wan - I Write', a Contemporary Artist Project exhibition produced by the Seoul Arts Center, reinterprets Korean traditional calligraphy in the language of contemporary art. Working from brush and ink, Lee Wan combines text, image, painting and seal carving to explore new possibilities for calligraphy. Rather than stopping at beautiful lettering, the question 'why do we write?' shows how writing can become an art of self-expression. The exhibition offers a chance to experience a new calligraphy where tradition and the present meet.
