Seoul Architecture Festival

The 18th Seoul Architecture Festival takes 'Discovering Seoul: Assembling Seoul' as its theme, setting out to rediscover the appeal of the city's architecture and urban life together with the public. Seoul generates creative possibility out of a 'composite density' in which the history, culture and local character of a high-density city are combined. It has also continually adapted through 'accelerated evolution', rapidly renewing its forms on the basis of what has accumulated, amid swift social change. Further, through a 'glocality' that crosses local context with global currents, it is extending the urban experience and values distinctive to contemporary K-architecture out to the world. This year's festival offers a range of participatory programs so that people can experience Seoul's architecture and urban life more closely and engage with architectural culture. Through an architecture culture forum with architects, talk programs and work tours with the winners of the 44th Seoul Architecture Award, programs for young aspiring architects and other participatory content, it aims to create a place for discovering Seoul's architecture and building K-architecture culture together.
