The Painters is distinctive in that dance, acting and art are its main means of speaking to the audience. Projection mapping, a newer visual technique, is added to give viewers a rich visual experience. Key scenes on stage include light carving, sculpting with light; action painting across four canvases; dust drawing with its delightful reversals; speed drawing at astonishing pace; marbling drawn on water; and glow drawing rendered in light.
