Busan Folk Arts Festival

The 6th Busan Folk Arts Festival is a traditional culture festival hosted by the Busan Metropolitan Government, introducing the city's intangible heritage and traditional folk culture through performances and hands-on programs. It is held from October 24 to 25, 2026, at Dasom Plaza in Busan Citizens Park for residents and visitors. Its main programs comprise the performance-led Pungnyu Madang, the hands-on Somssi Madang and the participation-led Janchi Madang. Pungnyu Madang is the space for the opening ceremony, intangible heritage performances from Busan and other regions, transmission school performances, global performances, special performances and citizen participation programs. Somssi Madang runs intangible heritage craft and performance programs, traditional making activities, traditional food programs and heritage care activities. Janchi Madang runs a traditional games zone, a Busan intangible heritage art fair, a traditional and craft market linked to Hanbok Culture Week, a stamp tour and wish-note writing, hanbok rental and traditional ornament programs. The festival is built so that Busan's intangible heritage and traditional culture can be encountered through both watching performances and taking part.
